@ Kathy - When forming your cake balls, make sure you don't use too much icing. Add a little at a time to the cake until you get the right consistency to roll a uniform ball. I use a hand mixer to mix the icing with the cake. Also,make sure to squish it all together VERY WELL - almost like kneading dough. If everything is the right texture and consistency, you shouldn't have a problem with getting the balls just right. After that, make sure you let them firm up in the fridge for a little bit before dipping. Thanks for your comments!

Hi! How do you get your cake balls so uniform and ROUND? I make them often just for my family and daughter's ball team,but they sure aren't that smooth and round.

Yes, I use styrofoam and usually some newspaper or other type of filler to keep the foam in place. It needs to fit into the container tightly to keep them from tipping over. I top the foam and paper with spanish moss or colorful shredded paper. Thanks for your comment!
